I can't say enough how glad I am 2016 is dead and gone! I went out the 1st time in years on NYE, just to celebrate it. The first song they played for 2017 was Let's Dance by David Bowie, and the last was Freedom ('90) by George Michael, and it fed my spirit!

Speaking of spirits, while I was out, I realized something so clever (at least to me) about this year's Christmas story. I've heard about a tradition in the UK of telling ghost stories during the holidays, because of A Christmas Carol, I don't know. I do know Mark Gatiss has written a few ghost stories for the BBC and there are some that get repeated very year. Moffat, being Moffat, did something different, using 'ghost' in 3 different ways. #1 was the name of the jewel that gave the kid his powers, #2 was his heroic name (Ghost), and 3 was something different, but kind of sweet, The Doctor being 'haunted' by his last night with River, with Nardole there to drive that point home.

I had expected you guy would have loved this story as much as I did! I It was just FUN! I loved all the tropes, especially how a reporter as sharp as Lucy couldn't figure out who the Ghost was, even with the Doctor's 'hints'. Even the New York where the story took place had a comic book feel. And didn't the evil alien doctor have a slightly European accent? The "Squeeze Toy of Truth" was bizarre, but I liked it! It was all what I was expecting, but a little bit more.

Anyway, to each his own. I am curious to know what you think about the end to "Power of the Daleks", did anyone see the colorized version Christmas morning? Take care.

Scott from Philly

Re: Friday Night Who 1/29

Do you know anywhere I could find this online?

Re: Now in Glorious Babelcolour!

I totally agree. I can't say enough good things about Babelcolour’s videos. There's some incredible stuff there. The colorization work is simply amazing. It breathes all new life into those old black and white clips. I wish all the old classic episodes could get that kind of treatment. As for the other videos, I particularly enjoyed the "Time War" videos. All I can say about those is WOW!!!

So, yah, definitely worth checking it out!

Re: Episode 257 – Seconds in Eternity

To me it seemed like the Doctor at some point was able to set the rooms so they reset to a state he chose. Buried "Im in 12" sign, shovel in the hall, clothes by the fireplace, Clara painting, etc. The sign might have made it through resets if it was buried deeper than whatever field reset that place but still, wonder if they'll come back to that in the finale or it it's just another just-accept-it from Moffat. Definitely my favorite episode in the past two seasons!

Re: Friday Night Who 8/21

cant wait for that.

http://www.hanselseeksgrete...

Re: Episode 236 – Great Intelligence Quotient

Amazing review, guys. Great! Although I should point out, according to Downtime it's Gilmore (from Remembrance) who recommended LS to UNIT command. Do we ignore it? It was wonderful Sylvester McCoy is such a Hoot. I really want to meet him, He should come to Santa Fe Comic Con in October. lol :) There some really neat stories, some I knew, others I didn't. I burst out laughing at his answer at "Who is crazier Whovians or Hobbit Fans" " They are all bananas." As someone who is in both fandoms, that is so true. I also loved the ending bit . :) It was brilliant

Re: Episode 167 – Let It LEGO

In all fairness, I kind of brought up the LEGO talk again. I don't know if it's a good idea to associate this winter with the site, it might make some people grumpy! I've been wanting to write you guys for awhile, but I seems that between making up time at work missed from the weather and just dealing with the weather, the weekend is over just when it stated for me.
I don't want to extensively comment on ALL that's happened since I've seen 'Time of the Doctor, but I want to try a few. I made notes!!
-Enjoyed Time of the Doctor more the 2nd time than the 1st. Hearing your review really helped a lot!! Thanks!!
-I think the 'E-Space' trilogy works better in context of the chronological order of stroes than on it's own. The previous season I liked, but honestly, that was a time when I was starting to feel maybe it was my time to go. Between the budget problems, general aimlessness of the stories, and no having a strong finish, series 17 felt 'meh'. In contrast, series 18 had much more direction and drive, it felt like the stories were moving somewhere.
- I love scary, monstrous vampires, love "State of Decay"!!
- I was always intrigued and baffled by "Warrior's Gate", which I liked because it felt like a mental challenge. The best critique I ever heard of it (sorry I can't recall exactly where) called it 'Romana in Wonderland", from the mirror entrances, everywhere/nowhere location, subversion of logic, and the Thralls as Cheshire cat-people! It kinda works!
- Some information about Boudicca (spelled with 1 or 2 'c's). She is a famous, real historical figure, a Welsh warrior queen who fought against the Romans. There's a famous stature of her in London where she's in a chariot, standing tall, holding a spear. A BBC movie about her was made around 2002, starring - - ALEX KINGSTON!! It might be on Netflix as 'Warrior Queen.
- I know 2 out of 3 of you are missing out on Gallifrey this weekend, but if you check with 'Wizard World', KAREN GILLAN, NATHAN FILLION, and KARL URBAN will all be here in Philly this year, the 1st weekend in June! I don't know about other dates nearer to you, but it's work looking into!
This is actually a much shorter letter than I expected, but now I feel caught up. During this time I hade to school another podcaster in k9's history!! He thought Mark I was the same as the K9 who left with Romana,, completely forgetting 'Invasion of Time' And the Doctor having Mark II in a box! I informed him as politely as I could, and he was grateful, but it goes to show you have to be careful who you listen to!! I may not always agree with your opinions of certain stories, but I know you know your Who!! hahaha!! Take care, and don't turn your back on any snowmen with bad attitudes!

Re: Special Message From Daphne Ashbrook

Strange Chris.
